We started our journey towards Boaracay at 9:30am. The taxi arrived to Amamaros about 30 minutes late because of flat tyre. It took about 5 hours to travel along sometimes very bumpy and broken roads. On the way we stopped in Kalibo to eat in a restaurant. In that restaurant it seemed that I managed to get a portion that had been stored some time under heat lamp. I had a nasty stomach problem next day.
The taxi from Amamaros to Caticlan cost 3000 pesos (about 50 euros).
From Caticlan we travelled with boat to Boracay. Because there was no pier for the boat in Boracay we had to ford to the beach from the boat. There was water until belly when we got out of the boat. I was carrying my camera bag above my head so it did not get wet. The boat staff and the porters carried the luggage and children.
We let the porters carry our luggage on our way to Veli's Inn in Boracay. We followed the porters along the road and then we turned to a small road going through a kind of bazaar. Veli's Inn was couple of minutes walk from the beach.
In the afternoon we managed to visit the beach before sunset.
